Dr. Eric Hankins
Lead Pastor
Pastor Eric grew up in Southwest Louisiana. He felt called to ministry at the age of 18 and spent the next several years serving as a youth pastor and lead pastor while he completed his education, culminating in a Ph.D. in Theology from Southwestern Seminary. He has been at First Fairhope since 2016. He has been married to Janet (who has been his sweetheart since they met in middle school) for 33 years. They have three children, John David (married to Auguste), Emily (married to Nick), Jake (a senior at USA), and four grandchildren. Dr. Hankins loves to read, travel (mission trips have taken him all over the world), play golf, sit on benches while Janet shops, and root for Ole Miss (he pastored in Oxford before coming to Fairhope). His ministry passion is to see the church fulfill her world-changing, disciple-making kingdom purpose through expository preaching, Spirit-directed leading, and a shepherd’s care of individuals and families.
